Audio Architecture and Power

The system utilizes a 4.0.4 channel configuration consisting of 16 total speaker units. Each of the four wireless speakers houses four drivers: one 19mm soft dome type tweeter, one 60mm full-range unit, one 85mm x 85mm X-Balanced woofer, and one 36mm x 79mm up-firing X-Balanced speaker. The amplification is provided by Sony's S-Master HX digital amplifier with a total system power output of 504 Watts.

Supported Audio Formats

Comprehensive surround sound support includes Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Digital. It also supports DTS:X, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, and DTS 96/24. For music, the system is compatible with High-Resolution Audio, LDAC, and 360 Reality Audio. Standard formats like LPCM (up to 192kHz/24-bit) and MPEG-H 3D Audio are also fully supported.

Video and Gaming Support

The control box features HDMI 2.1 passthrough capable of handling 8K HDR and 4K at 120Hz. Video format support includes Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG. For gamers, the system supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and Source-Based Tone Mapping (SBTM). Exclusive PlayStation 5 features include Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.

Connectivity and Network

Wireless connectivity is handled via Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) and Bluetooth version 5.2. Bluetooth profiles include A2DP and AVRCP, with support for SBC, AAC, and LDAC codecs. Network functions include Spotify Connect and Apple AirPlay 2. Physical ports on the control box consist of one HDMI input, one HDMI output (supporting eARC), one Ethernet port, and an S-Center Out for compatible BRAVIA TVs.

Dimensions and Weight

The control box measures 160mm x 56mm x 160mm and weighs approximately 0.77kg. Each speaker unit with the supplied table stand measures 289mm x 306mm x 129mm and weighs 2.6kg. If wall-mounted using the supplied brackets, each speaker measures 289mm x 279mm x 73mm and weighs 2.7kg.

Power and Efficiency

The control box has an operational power consumption of approximately 13 Watts and a standby consumption of 0.5 Watts. Each speaker consumes roughly 20 Watts during operation and 0.5 Watts in standby. Networked standby consumption for the control box is 2.8 Watts when all terminals are connected.
