Sennheiser AMBEO Soundbar Plus
Full Technical Specifications
Audio Architecture and Power
The system utilizes a 7.1.4 channel virtualized surround sound configuration housed within a single chassis. The driver array consists of nine total speakers: seven 2-inch high-end aluminum cone full-range drivers (distributed as three front-facing, two side-firing, and two up-firing) and two 4-inch long-throw cellulose cone woofers for integrated bass. The system is driven by nine individual Class D amplifiers providing a total power output of 400 Watts RMS.
Supported Audio Formats
Immersive audio support includes Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, MPEG-H, and Sony 360 Reality Audio. The soundbar features advanced AMBEO virtualization technology, co-developed with Fraunhofer IIS, which can upmix standard stereo and 5.1 content into a 3D soundstage. It supports a wide frequency response of 38Hz to 20kHz and is compatible with High-Resolution Audio formats and LDAC via Bluetooth.
Video and Gaming Support
The hardware interface includes HDMI 2.1 with eARC support for lossless audio transmission. It provides passthrough for 4K video signals and is compatible with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision standards. While primarily focused on acoustic performance, the AMBEO OS ensures low-latency signal processing suitable for modern gaming consoles and high-definition streaming devices.
Connectivity and Network
Physical inputs include one HDMI eARC output (HDMI 2.1), two HDMI 2.0a inputs, one Optical S/PDIF input (supporting up to 192kHz), and one Stereo RCA analog input. It also features a dedicated Mono RCA subwoofer pre-out for wired expansion. Wireless capabilities include Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.0, Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and Google Chromecast built-in.
Dimensions and Weight
The soundbar measures approximately 1051mm in width, 77mm in height (with feet attached), and 121mm in depth. Without the feet, the height is reduced slightly to 75mm. The unit weighs approximately 6.3kg. The design is intended for tabletop placement or wall mounting via an optional dedicated bracket.
Power and Intelligence
The unit operates on a voltage range of 100–240V and features four integrated far-field high-precision microphones used for automated room calibration. These microphones allow the system to map the room's acoustic properties without external hardware. Power consumption is rated at a maximum of 100W during heavy use, with a deep standby mode consuming less than 0.5 Watts.
