Full Methodology: The CORE™ Verification Standard (V7.4)
At Flickthru, all rankings are generated using the CORE™ System — a structured, version-controlled, mathematically weighted evaluation framework designed to deliver objective, data-driven product recommendations for UK consumers.
The system operates under formal version control. Reports published prior to 04.03.26 were generated under Version 7.3 of the CORE™ Verification Standard. On 04.03.26, the framework was upgraded to V7.4 Production Build 1.0, enhancing fraud detection, structural enforcement, and scoring safeguards.
The five foundational principles remain consistent across both versions. All reports remain valid under the methodology active at the time of publication. All new and updated rankings operate under V7.4.
The Review Radar: Data Authentication Layer
Before any product is scored, its review data must pass through the Review Radar — a multi-stage verification system designed to eliminate manipulated or inflated sentiment.
The Review Radar Process
- Raw Collection
We gather all available ratings and written feedback from major retail APIs and search engine metadata. - Verified Filter
Reviews marked “Verified Purchase” are prioritised to ensure feedback reflects genuine customer transactions. - Cross-Platform Triangulation
Retail sentiment is compared against independent enthusiast communities and external sources. If retail enthusiasm materially deviates from independent consensus, its weighting is reduced. - Sentiment Correction Factor (SCF)
If abnormal review growth is detected without a verified catalyst (such as a product launch or promotion), a mathematical penalty is applied. - Integrity Cross-Check
Sales volume is cross-referenced against total review count. If inconsistencies are detected, the product may be flagged, penalised, or excluded from ranking consideration.
Only review data that passes all stages enters the scoring model.
The CORE™ System: The 5 Principles of Verification
Each product is scored on a 1–99 scale across five weighted principles.
Principle 1: Verified Reviews
Star ratings are normalised and converted into percentage-based scores to ensure consistency across platforms. Only Review Radar-cleared data is included.
Principle 2: Performance Data
Products are evaluated on:
Primary mission execution
User experience and usability
Benchmark performance against category leaders
Principle 3: Brand & Build
This principle assesses:
Materials and construction quality
Reliability and historical brand performance
Warranty length and coverage depth
Premium-priced products are assessed proportionally against warranty support to prevent overpricing without long-term reassurance.
Principle 4: Overall Value
Value is determined using performance-per-pound modelling and long-term ownership cost projections.
This ensures rankings reflect efficiency of spend, not just raw performance.
Principle 5: Sales by Volume
Market validation is measured using:
Sales velocity and recent momentum
90-day market share index
Return-to-sales ratio, including open-box and refurbished frequency
High return rates negatively impact a product’s ranking.
Structural Safeguards & Ranking Integrity
To protect ranking neutrality and reproducibility:
- Each category must pass a Category Specificity Lock
- Exactly six products are ranked per category
- Rankings are recalculated at execution time
- No product can be manually inserted
- No brand can purchase placement
- Structural hard-fail rules trigger regeneration if scoring conditions are not met
This ensures statistical fairness, reproducibility, and structural transparency.
Independent Mathematical Framework
The CORE™ System incorporates:
Sentiment Correction Factors (SCF)
Performance-per-Pound normalisation
Warranty-based risk modifiers
Market share velocity analysis
Return-to-sales ratio integrity metrics
Products exhibiting inorganic review growth are automatically penalised or excluded.
Rankings are generated algorithmically and cannot be manually edited.
Our Commitment
Many recommendation platforms rely on editorial opinion or commercial prioritisation.
The CORE™ System removes discretionary bias by enforcing fixed weighting, structured data authentication, and mathematical scoring consistency.
Results are generated — not curated.
All findings are collated using the CORE™ System.
